There seems to be quite a bit of confusion on the numbering of this particular game. Game director Hajime Tabata explained the "Type 0" added in the title basically means a "starting-over" of the Final Fantasy series. The director further elaborated the title is an "expression" that is "both like and unlike final Fantasy."

In an interview Tabata said, "We incorporated the meaning of starting anew, from zero."

The upcoming game was supposed to be known as "Final Fantasy Agito XIII." He also said that the idea to separate "Type-0" from "Final Fantasy XIII" started as early as 2009.

Curiously, all the playable characters in Final Fantasy Type-0 are named after playing cards. It seems the developers enjoy namING their characters as King, Queen, Ace, Deuce and so on.

Tabata recounts how one member of his team, Tetsuya Nomura, proposed the playing cards named convention adding a Joker as the 14th playable character.

The Final Fantasy Type-0 HD game video trailer features creatures like behemoths, bombs cactuars, moogles and other enemies that you usually encounter in the Final Fantasy series.

Final Fantasy Type-0 does present a different story line from the previous installment in the series. It shows a darker side of the game in which most of the creatures you encounter, even the cute ones, seem to emit danger.

Tabata described the game as a serious and mature action-based style of fighting with a unique take on multiplayer mode.

Final Fantasy Type-0 will be released on the Xbox One and PS 4 consoles and will also be accompanied by a Final Fantasy XV demo that's three hours long.
