Buzzfeed writer Matt Stopera has travelled to China to meet the man who acquired his stolen iPhone a couple of years after it was pinched in a New York City bar. More than a meeting of grievances, the two meet as new-found friends.

The relationship between the two men is an international "bromance" that has gained interest in China and other parts of the world. Now, Stopera tracked down Li Hongjun and finally got to meet. They met at Guangdong Jieyang Airport in Southern China and shared an embrace between new friends.

Ever since they met, the pair has been hanging out around China. In Stopera's Weibo account --- China's equivalent to Twitter --- pictures also show him eating porridge, planting a tree, and taking a selfie with Li under his trademark tangerine tree.

People's Daily reported that they will be visiting a museum dedicated to the Hakka culture, meet a famous footballer, make their own Hakka wine, and attend a puppet show.

Through their meeting, Stopera even got a chance to get a glimpse of his stolen phone again.

However, he indicates that the most important think to come out of the fortuitous encounter was the friendship that blossomed between him and Li. He also says that the trip to China is one of his most valuable travels in his lifetime.

The 30-year old Li says that his nephew gave him the phone and that he did now know where it came from.

When asked about how life has changed since becoming a sort-of online celebrity, Li shrugs it off and says that nothing much has changed.

"It's no big deal if customers want to take pictures with me. People call me Brother Orange, or take pictures of me when I'm walking on the street," said Li. "It doesn't bother me. It feels really good."

When Stopera's phone was stolen in a bar in Manhattan, he began seeing pictures of Li on his iCloud account. From there, the two people's paths closed together through the help of the internet and social media, until finally crossing this past week.
