Just last week, it was announced that one of One Direction's members Zayn Malik is signing off the boy band's "On The Road Again" tour because of "stress," although many are speculating that it's actually about the allegations that he again had cheated on his fiancée Perrie Edwards, with a girl in Thailand.

And while a lot of fans were disappointed and left scared what his absence might do to the band, Liam Payne attempted to make light of the temporary departure of their band mate.

On Monday, he shared a photo of himself and the rest of the band members, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. In the photo, they were holding up a poster of themselves, though Liam covered Zayn's face with his hand. He captioned the photo with the hashtag #makinglightofasituation and continued, "sorry for the laughs guys."

However, the reaction was not what he was possibly expecting. A lot of fans questioned his act and said that they cannot see the humor in making fun of Zayn's absence due to stress. One user, Gorgia Rose seemed infuriated and tweeted, "How dare you cover Zayn's face? Don't f****ng do it again."

Unfortunately, it wasn't just Zayn's loyal followers that he's clashed with. He's also in hot water with the Beliebers after he poked fun at Justin's arrests, which led to an all out Twitter war between his fans and the Bieber's.

Liam hasn't apologized or deleted his tweet, and while there's no news if he has plans to do so, he did post another tweet which said, "Never mind, and #banter."

Before the controversial photo, Liam shared a snap of his gorgeous girlfriend Sophia Smith in a bikini and told her that he misses her. While Zayn went home to fix his problems with Perrie and Louis has just called it quits with his long-time girlfriend Eleanor Calder, Liam made sure to remind people that he is happy and very much in love with his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, a representative for One Direction talked to the Sun last week and confirmed that Zayn will be leaving the tour due to stress and flying back to London to rest and recover and assured fans that the band will "continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta."
