On Monday, a spokesperson from Lee Min Ho's agency confirmed the news that Lee will not be enlisting "in the army this year," adding that the 27-year old actor might join next year if he does receive the call.
After the release, many netizens were quick to point out that the possible reason behind Lee's military enlistment delay was his alleged relationship with singer and actress Suzy Bae.
However, the spokesperson clarified the speculations and explained that his decision to delay his enlistment has absolutely nothing to do with his rumored girlfriend and added that it's because of the "City Hunter" star's prior filming and advertising commitments, which he needs to fulfill. Aside from that, the spokesperson also said that the actor is also "trying to finish graduate school."
Despite the clarification, however, social media users still remain doubtful of his decision to postpone his military enlistment, especially after photos of Lee and Suzy together in London surfaced. The photos immediately made their rounds online and users accused Lee of intentionally avoiding serving in active duty.
One user stressed that he needs to stop going to hotels and instead attend the army while he's at the right age.
