Xbox Executive Hints PS4 Timed Exclusive ‘No Man's Sky’ May Soon Come to Xbox One

"No Man's Sky" will initially be released for the PS4 as a result of a timed exclusive deal.

A Hello Games executive said in an interview that No Man's Sky is definitely coming to the PC platform at some future date.  He was silent about the prospect of having the game played in the Xbox One console, however.

ID@Xbox Program European head Agostino Simonetta was asked by Eurogamer to comment if  Microsoft has any regrets in failing to get No Man Sky for the Xbox One.

Simonetta doesn't think so. He said they have a number of Xbox One exclusive games, too.  He also explained they've got more than a thousand developers that have an Xbox kit at their disposal and more than a hundred Xbox games are currently being developed.

He believes that despite Sony's success in getting a timed exclusive deal with No Man's Sky, Xbox has a number of enticing games to offer.

In the interview, Simonetta maintained that games like No Man's Sky can still come to the Xbox One console as long as it doesn't have an "entirely exclusive" deal with another gaming platform. He said, unless a developer "signed a publishing deal" with another platform, " any title can come to ID@Xbox."

No Man's Sky was developed by Hello Games, an independent studio based in Guildford, U.K.  The official website says the game is about survival and exploration in space.

It's an open and procedural generated universe where gamers can upgrade their characters and spacecraft while exploring the galaxy. The upcoming space game will have single and multiplayer mode.

The game is scheduled for launch this 2015 on the PS4. Later on the game will be released for the Windows PC.
