Jennifer Lawrence Confirms "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be Her Last Time Playing Mystique

Jennifer Lawrence has just confirmed that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will be her last time playing the shape shifter Mystique.

Once she's done with filming of X-Men's latest installment in the hit movie franchise, she will no longer be playing Mystique, as the co-writer and co-producer of the movie, Simon Kinberg hinted that it will also be the villain's last appearance in the franchise.

He referred to the latest X-Men movie as "the close of a trilogy" for the First Class characters. And while he clarified that that does not mean it's the end for those characters, he acknowledged that, "it's a completion of an arc for them." He also divulged a little and said that Mystique's relationship with Beast will be examined further in the movie. Beast is currently played by 25-year old Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer's ex-boyfriend.

Simon said that their relationship is a very interesting one that they weren't able to explore much in any of the previous movies, but are glad that they will be able to do so now in Apocalypse.

In a short interview with MTV news at the premiere of her new American-French drama movie, Serena, Jennifer also confirmed the news and said that the X-Men Apocalypse will be her last one.

Jennifer's debut as the sexy blue mutant was in "X-Men: First Class," which was released back in 2011. After fans of the comics praised her performance, Jennifer returned to "X-Men: Days of Future Past," which was released last year.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set to premiere on May 27 next year.
