In November of last year, Lok Yi married Nicole, who was once a contestant in Miss Hong Kong. The Lees are a well-known family in Hong Kong, owning and running hundreds of skincare clinics. Their fortune is said to be at around $500 million HKD or US $64 million.
Due to massive differences in the couple's financial backgrounds, their relationship was first met with scrutiny. There were talks that Nicole's parents did not want her marrying Lok Yi because they felt like he wouldn't be able to financially support their daughter. While the rumors lasted for months, Lok Yi denied and clarified them. The "Come Home Love" actor said that the reports weren't new and once again said that they all get along well.
And while his wife helps out in the family's successful business, he said that he has no plans working for the Lees, saying that he has his own career. He even revealed that Nicole and the rest of her family are extremely supportive of him and his career, adding that they just recently got together for lunch. They read the reports and just laughed them off.
As for the news that he accepted his new father's gifts of a new car and a villa. He shot the claims down by saying that he has always drove his own cars and lived in his own house. He added that just because he got married does not mean he has to accept things from anyone. "I am capable to do everything on my own," he said.
Finally, to put the rumors to rest, he said, "Our families are getting along well and we cannot use money to measure everything."
