It's no secret that Jeremy Renner's divorce isn't going smoothly. Fortunately, one of his closest friends are speaking up and rallying to his side-claiming that the 44-year old actor's estranged wife is actually trying to extort him.

Kristoffer Winters, who was living as Jeremy's roommate during his 11-month marriage to Sonni Pacheco says that his wife only married him so she can get a green card.

During that time that he was living with them, he was able to witness several instances when Sonni exhibited negligent parenting not only during pregnancy but also after she gave birth to her and Jeremy's daughter Ava, who is now 2 years old.

Kristoffer believes that Sonni, who is a Canadian citizen only settled down with Renner so she can receive a U.S. citizenship and permanently stay in the United States. 

He also revealed that while Sonni was pregnant, she made appointments to abort the baby but decided not to when she realized that marrying Jeremy, who stars in the successful "The Avengers" franchise, will improve her financial situation. Aside from that, he claimed that Sonni threatened and extorted Jeremy with his intimate and personal videos.

"I heard Sonni say at least five or six times that Jeremy should be nice to her and not fight her on green card or money issues or else she would release intimate videos of him to TMZ," Kristoffer said in the papers. However, TMZ clarified that Sonni didn't reach out to them.

As for Sonni's negligent parenting, Kristoffer said that she smoked cigarettes and drank wine every single day when she was pregnant. But that didn't stop there. After she gave birth to Ava in March of 2013, Kristoffer said that she continued to drink almost a bottle of wine a day.

He then continued to cite more examples of Sonni's negligent parenting such as leaving Ava, who was only 1 year old and 6 months at the time, at home alone to go out with her friends.

Sonni strongly denied Kristofer's claims and accusations to TMZ and said that she'll continue to fight for full custody of their daughter and ask for further child support from Jeremy.
