Twitter to Release New Metrics Showing Wider Reach

New metrics showing Twitter's microblogging service reaches a wider audience without users even logging in to their accounts will be released soon.
Twitter, Inc. will launch four new metrics after releasing its second quarter revenues for July, said the Wall Street Journal.

Twitter's move aims to change the public's perception of Twitter as a social network similar to that of Google, Inc.'s YouTube, where users can open videos via other sites.
Usually, tweets are embedded on other sites or are shown scrolling on television screens. However, Twitter's new metrics do not take those audiences into account.
Twitter currently measures its reach via traditional metrics like monthly unique visitors, monthly active users, and timeline views.
It will now disclose details of how users interact with tweets. The new metrics include the number of users clicking on certain links, or those people retweeting and favoriting tweets.
For the last couple of quarters, Twitter reported lackluster user and usage growth. Also, Twitter's stock price took a big hit over the last six months.
Executive infighting could put a damper on Twitter's plans, however. Anthony Noto became Twitter's Chief Financial Officer in July while a former Goldman Sachs executive became the officer in charge of finances.
Ali Rowghani, Chief Operating Officer of Twitter, left the company after a misunderstanding with Dick Costolo, Twitter's Chief Executive, regarding the continuous checking of product innovation.
Twitter did not comment on the top level scuffles.
Recently, Twitter has been struggling to revive its flagging user growth.
