Taiwanese actress-model Tiffany Hsu's mother defends Ethan Ruan, saying that he is not cheating on her daughter and that nothing of that sort has ever happened.

On March 25, Wednesday, rumors that celebrity couple Ethan Ruan and Tiffany Hsu have called it quits after eight years surfaced.  According to media reports, the couple decided to split after having disagreements in their relationship.

According to the rumor, Hsu was the one who ended her relationship with the 'Fated to Love You' star after discovering that he has been cheating on her. Furthermore, Ruan's 'Under the Sicily Sun' co-star Zhou Dong Yu is being romantically linked to him and is allegedly the reason for his separation from Hsu.

Others have also speculated that Hsu has also found new love.

Following the issue, another report has surfaced that the couple is working things out in order to save their relationship.

However, Hsu's mother has been interviewed by the media and she insistently denied the rumors. When asked to comment about the rumor that the actor was cheating on her daughter, the mother stated, "There's nothing going on, nothing at all."

Moreover, Hsu's mother expressed that she does not make a habit of interfering in her daughter's relationship. When asked if she would encourage the couple to make up, she replied, "No. They have their own opinions."

Hsu's mother also advised the media to give the couple a break and leave them alone.

As for the rumor which states that Hsu has already found a new lover, the mother also dismissed the allegations and added that the actress is currently overseas to attend a film festival.

 Hsu's agent has also supported her mother's claims, saying that the 30-year old actress has gone to a trip to Japan with her family and emphasized that she is not seeing someone new.

On the other hand, Ruan has also responded to the rumors via his Weibo account. On his post he wrote, "Tiffany is still my woman and Dong Yu will always be just a granddaughter to me. Silly rumors!"
