A representative from JYP spoke out about the issue and explained that although Jinwoon and Seulong will now be under different agencies, they will still be able to continue with their group's activities in the same way the band, g.o.d. does.
The chief executive of JYP also expressed his sadness over the departure of Jinwoon and Seulong especially that 2AM is "a group he holds dear," but clarified that he respects them and their decisions.
And while the two members have chosen to leave JYP, Jo Kwon chose to stay and has reportedly already renewed his contract with JYP. As for Changmin, he is said to still be deliberating and examining his options with four months to go before his contract expires.
Another spokesman for JYP said that their actions do not mean they're disbanding. The members of the group are already like family to one another, so even if they work under different agencies, as long as they still want to continue and perform together as 2AM, "they will stay as 2AM."
Seulong has already signed with Sidus HQ while Jinwoon is already fixing his contract with MYSTIC Entertainment. Their decision is speculated to be a business move, especially that the both of them are trying to pursue more acting roles and carry out solo activities.
Sidus HQ mainly handles talent management for music, as well as TV production and is known for handling stars like Kim Woo Bin, Kim Yoo Jung and Kim So Hyun, while MYSTIC Entertainment is home to artists such as Thunder and Ga In.
