After 13 years of hibernating, the fantastic FBI duo is returning for a six episode series of "X-Files."
According to MSN Entertainment, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will relive their partnership as special agent Dana Scully and special agent Fox Mulder. Fans can expect the series production to start this summer. Chris Carter, the series creator, has dubbed the absence of the show as a long 13 year commercial break, but also cited his excitement as the current time of production couldn't be better. He said, "The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."

The sci-fi series previously ran for almost 10 years on Fox TV and Anderson wasn't shy about admitting that she and Duchovny didn't always agree on everything on the set. There were times when they hated each other and not talk for a long time, which made them even a pain just seeing one another on the production set. Duchovny took to twitter his excitement by posting a throwback picture of him and Anderson, captioning it with "It's been 13 years, hope my suits still fit."
According to The Verge, the show was nominated 62 times in a span of nine seasons and garnered 16 Emmy Awards. The announcement of the show coming back to TV came from Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Fox Television Group's Chairman and CEO.
In a statement released by Newman and Walden, it said, "We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of the X-Files, and we couldn't be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again."
The X-Files series were also followed by big screen adaptation, the first which was entitled, "The X-Files: Fight the Future" and "The X-Files: I want to Believe" which only made a mere US$69.37 million worldwide as compared to the first one that raked US$189million worldwide.
