The family of Casey Kasem, the world's most recognizable top 40 DJ, continues to squabble over him even in death.
Kerri, Kasem's daughter, is adamant that Jean, his wife of 34 years, stole his corpse and has left the country. As an offshoot of the allegation against Jean, a judge has just granted a restraining order against her, preventing her from cremating Kasem's body although the condition and location of his remains are yet to be determined.

Jean's alleged move was spurred on by a judge's ruling to grant a restraining order to keep the body in the Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, Washington. Despite the order, Jean asked the funeral home staff to ship Kasem's body to Urgel Bourgie Funeral Homes in Montreal last July 14. The funeral home in Canada stated that they have no record of the said arrangement.
Before Kasem's body went missing, Kerri said that she was pushed to ask for the right to an autopsy after discovering that Jean had asked that an autopsy be done on her father.
According to Kerri, "I'm concerned about the results of any autopsy Jean Kasem may have commissioned and how they might be used. Consequently, I thought it would be best to ask the Washington Court to allow me to have an autopsy conducted by a forensic pathologist of my own selection."
During his final months, Jean and Kasem's children were in a scandalous legal battle over his health care.
Suffering from Lewy body dementia, Kasem was transferred from one facility to another by Jean in an effort to keep him away from his children.
Kerri insisted that Jean took Kasem for a week-long road trip and that he had developed bed sores because of it. The bed sores were believed to have contributed to his death.
Jean, on the other hand, accused Kasem's children of rushing his death certificate in order to obtain a share in his life insurance.
Currently, Kasem's death certificate states "pending" under his cause of death.
