The smart TV of LeapFrog can store more than 100 games which focus on kids between the ages of three and eight. It also features Disney TV shows such as Sofia the First and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
All the games featured are designed for teaching various skills like reading, math, and science.
They can also use body motions when playing. The company also integrated physical fitness into kids' lives.
Kids can select gaming options such as pointer similar to a Wii controller and includes two-handed controllers as well. LeapFrog designed the controllers which fitted small hands.
"While there are a number of existing 'family' or adult video game systems, less than 1% of tens of thousands of video games ... are rated appropriate for children under the age of six years old. Plus, console hardware and controllers have not been designed for children," said the spokesperson of LeapFrog.
The smart TV console package will be released online in September for US$149.99. The package contains one controller, a motion-sensor camera, an HDMI cable, and built-in Wi-Fi for downloading apps. For US$29.99, they can buy individual game cartridges and every app starts at US$5.
