ThinkPad 8 of Lenovo are being pulled out now in the United States.

Lenovo, Chinese computer technology and biggest PC vendor, announced on Thursday that ThinkPad 8 is being phased out in the U.S. However, they would still sell small-screen Windows tablets, both 8- and 10-inch models, in United States in the coming months.

The company made clarification in statement that their Miix 8-inch was sold out and they are not pulling out small-screen Windows tablet business altogether.

A Lenovo representative said in an emailed statement to Mashable, technology news website, that people are more into larger screen sizes for Window Tablets and gives positive feedback for the initial demand for ThinkPad 10.

However, the company also acknowledged the strong demand of ThinkPad 8 in markets of Japan, Brazil, China, and developing countries as well.

"In other markets, particularly Brazil, China, and Japan, the demand for ThinkPad 8 has been much stronger, so we are adjusting our ThinkPad 8 inventories to meet increasing demand in those markets," Lenovo said.

ThinkPad 8 features 1080p screen and USB 3.0 port but carries a problem with charging, battery issues, screen, and connectivity.

The 7- and 8-inche tablets of Lenovo are only available in Android and cost between US$129 and US$249.

According to Bob O’Donnell, Technalysis Research’ principal analyst, Lenovo's move of pulling out ThinkPad 8 is due to higher demand of cheaper tablets that run under Android version.

“It’s impossible for Windows devices to compete,” O’Donnell added.
