19-Year-Old Male UC Berkeley Student Missing

Cal Athletic declared as missing on Sunday one of its student-athletes. He is 19-year-old Eloi Vasquez who was last seen on Saturday at about 1:30 a.m.
The Hispanic male, who has black hair and brown eyes, was last seen in the 600 block of West 28th Street in a party with friend. He told his friends that he would go for a walk and never returned to the party, reports Contra Costa Times.

He had on a white T-shirt, gray pants and white tennis shoes. Vasquez is a freshman and is part of the school's soccer team. The party he went to was a fraternity party of the Tau Kappa Epsilon, USC chapter. He did not have any money or identification.
Vasquez was recruited out of Marin Academy in Northern California to play soccer for the NCAA Division I program of the school. In his high school newspaper in 2014, Vasquez wrote that he played with Marin FC for four years and with the De Anza Force Academy. He said he had wanted to play professional soccer since he was a boy, reports the Inquisitr.
To help find Vasquez, fliers about his disappearance are being disseminated around South Central Los Angeles, particularly the USC part of the town. His family also requested the public's assistance in finding Eloi.
The Cal Athletics statement describes Vasquez as a wonderful young man who is bright academically and in athletics. It asked people who have information about the young man to call the LAPD Southwest Area Watch Commander at 213-486-8582 on weekdays or 877-LAPD-24-7 on weekends. Anonymous callers will be entertained at Crime Stoppers at 80-222-TIPS.
