Justin Bieber’s Roast on Comedy Central might have been the show’s loneliest roast. Comparing his roast to that of the others’, such as James Franco, it would appear that the “Beauty and the Beat” singer did not have anyone on his side on the roasting panel.
Through the years, the subjects of the comedy show’s roasts were usually celebrities who have gone past their prime, such as William Shatner, Roseanne Barr, and Pamela Anderson. Last year, though, Comedy Central managed to convince Franco to be on the hot seat as various people prodded and attempted to embarrass him onstage.

Although the show pulled it off, The Verge has pointed out that majority of those who roasted Franco were his peers, such as Aziz Ansari, Jonah Hill, and Bill Hader. Even the roast master was the roastee’s close friend, Seth Rogen. Taking a look at Bieber’s roasters, however, the selection seemed a bit off.
Chris D’Elia was reportedly Bieber’s favorite comedian. Ludacris was also one of those who contributed to the young pop star’s breakout hit, “Baby.” Apart from that, there was no other discernible reason why they were selected for the roasting panel.
Jeff Ross was there, which was, kind of, expected, as he has been present in almost every Comedy Central roasts these past couple of months.
However, the two comedians who went straight for the jugular were Natasha Leggero, a notorious party girl, and Hannibal Buress. It was also not a coincidence that this pair has a new show coming up on Comedy Central.
The others may have been selected for the sole purpose of free association, namely, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal, Kevin Hart, and Martha Stewart.
Moreover, the roast that he had on Comedy Central was just one of the things on his list for his 2015 apology tour. He first released a self-recorded video and posted it on his Facebook page. It would appear that Bieber is only starting with the apologies and is not bound to stop anytime soon, as he wants to prove that he wants “to make the best impression on people.”
“I am not who I was pretending to be,” he said.
