Priscilla Wong Dishes About Going Through Poverty and Living a Simple Life

Since Priscilla Wong joined TVB, she has enjoyed a smooth sailing and successful life and career, but that has not always been the case. Though she's a happy and very positive person, the 33-year old actress revealed that she actually grew up in poverty.
Her father made a living out of selling fish and other seafood, while her mother stayed home and took care of her and her siblings, as well as their home. She shared that her father had always wanted to have a son, especially that he was a traditional Chaozhou man, however, much to his dismay, all of his five children were girls.

Priscilla describes her mother as an excellent caretaker but shared that she has no desire to follow in her footsteps. She revealed that although she's not that cut out to be a housewife, she enjoys things like thrift shopping and said that even for two dollars, she'd be willing to go to three different supermarkets just to compare the prices.
The "Karma Rider" actress didn't hesitate to share that she was brought up in a family who had limited financial resources. Because of that, she never had the luxury of an allowance and had to do part-time tutoring jobs, so she can support and provide for herself. She is exceedingly proud of being frugal, though she doesn't mind spending on her family especially when it comes to food and travelling. She said that she doesn't mind footing the bill and doesn't care much about how much money she have left or has in the bank. What's important for her is that she has enough to cover her family's expenses and to provide food on the table-and that is what she says is enough.
As for her love life, Priscilla is romantically involved with her co-star on Madam Cutie on Duty, Edwin Siu. She described Edwin as a very optimistic person whom she can make laugh with just the simplest of jokes. However, she shared that their relationship wasn't easy when it first started. She was rumored to be the person responsible for breaking up Edwin and Gigi Ho and those rumors, she said, were the reason why she was depressed at the time. She couldn't go out to buy food because the media was always there, waiting to bombard her with questions.
And while she has her fair share of unhappy memories, she quickly bounced back and found comfort in the people who love her. She realized that there are more happy than unhappy experiences in her life and said, "Life is simply because being happy is the biggest happiness."
