Singapore Airlines has apologized for its social media posts on the downing of MH17 airliner, which sparked outrage from netizens who branded their posts as "insensitive" and "unethical."
Right after the crash of MH17, Singapore took to Twitter and Facebook claiming that their planes do not fly across the Ukrainian airspace.

Around 298 passengers and crew perished after the plane was shot down.
In an apology later posted on social media, the airlines said they "sincerely apologize" if their posts offended the sensibilities of the online community as well as their customers.
The airlines claimed that the posts were in response to their customers' queries on whether the airlines fly over that part of the region or not.
The airlines admitted that their message could have been better communicated and that they are sorry for offending the online community and their customers.
The posts received hundreds of scathing comments in social media, from people saying that they are "unethical" and from others branding the airlines' claims as false.
"A post starting with condolence (and) then, stating your planes are diverted and not using this airspace anymore would have made (you) sound less heartless!" Joannica Dass, wrote on Facebook.
"This statement is totally unethical. Have some respect for the ones who lost their lives," Jose Zahirsha wrote on Twitter.
While others claimed that Singapore Airlines was flying within 25 km of MH 17 just before it was shot down, some people said that many were overreacting and that Singapore Airlines was just doing its work of assuring their customers.
The airlines posted their message of condolences to the fatalities after apologizing and clarifying their remarks.
The Malaysia Airlines MH17 was flying over the Ukrainian airspace when it was shot down. Aviation experts were questioning the flight path the airline took when the airspace has been declared as a war zone.
