The trailer shows a series of pictures of Winehouse before she made it big back in 2006 for her first, extremely successful track, "Rehab." Amy can be seen having fun, belting her voice out in the studio, showing off her dance moves in front of a mirror and joking with her friends.
In the teaser, a young Amy explains the reason why she started writing and said that she felt that there was nothing new and fresh coming out during the time "that really represented me or the way I felt, so you know, I just started writing."
She explained that she would not write unless it was something personal to her because she believes that she would not be able to tell how a story really is if it wasn't.
The teaser also covers Amy's rise to fame and shows media footage of her being stalked by the paparazzi. One of the photographers ask her, "How big do you think you're going to be?" To which she replies she does not think she's going to be famous at all. "I don't think I could handle it. I would probably go mad."
The documentary, which is directed by the award-winning director of "The Sheep Thief," Asif Kapadia, is scheduled to hit the big screens on July 3 in the UK, a few weeks before Amy's death anniversary. A24 films acquired the distribution rights in the US but has not yet announced the release date in the States.
