Zou Shiming Wins via Unanimous Decision Against Luis De La Rosa

Chinese icon Zou Shiming won his first 10-round bout against Colombian Luis De la Rosa via unanimous decision held at the Venetian Macao in Macau, China.

The three judges have scored the bout in favor of the two-time Olympic Gold medalist 99-91, 99-91 and 97-93, winning his fifth professional boxing match.

Trainer Freddie Roach said that Zou had showed a huge improvement and has delivered solid punches all throughout the 10 rounds. Zou even managed to open a cut on De la Rosa's left eyebrow.

After the match, Zou said that he is ready for a title match just as long as Roach and Top Rank promoter Bob Arum agrees.

Zou has won Olympic Gold medals in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympic Games. He has also won gold medals in the World Amateur Championships in 2005, 2007 and 2011. He was considered to be the greatest amateur light flyweight and is one of the most popular Chinese athletes.

Zou, 33, has made his first professional knockout last February against Thai Yachting Kokietgym in the seventh round of their scheduled eight-round match.

In other bouts at the Cotai Arena, unified junior featherweight world champion Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux knocks out his opponent Sod Kokietgym of Thailand in the very first round.

After just a minute of the fight, Rigondeaux delivered a furious right hook to the head followed by a left cross punch that sent Kokietgym to the canvas.

But it seems the Cuban still have some issues with his style of boxing as moments after the first knockdown, an accidental head butt sent Kokietgym back to the floor and after he was given time to recover, Rigondeaux delivered two more punches to the dizzy Thai that ended the bout.

This will be Rigondeaux's last fight under the Top Rank banner and they are not too eager in re-signing the Cuban fighter.
