How Ja Rule Missed His Opportunity to Star in the Succesful Fast and Furious Franchise

Ja Rule could have also been a very successful movie star had he not pass up on the role of "Tej" on the "Fast and Furious" sequels.
2 Fast 2 Furious director John Singleton revealed to Grantland that the 39-year old rapper agreed to appear in the First Fast and Furious movie in a small part that easily earned him a cool US$15,000.

He was then offered to appear in the sequel in a featured role, but Ja Rule decided to pass on it.
Speaking to MTV in September of 2002, he revealed that he felt that starring in the movie was not the "best move for me as far as what I want to do in Hollywood right now." Though he admitted that he's trying to take acting seriously, he said that not every move is considered "the right move."
So when Ja Rule declined the role in the second movie in the franchise, which could have earned him a whopping US$500,000, they decided to get another rapper instead-Ludacris.
According to the "Shaft" director, Ludacris was the total opposite of Ja Rule. While he described Ja Rule as "too big for himself," he described Chris Bridges aka Ludacris as humble and someone who was excited to meet him.
Aside from starring in 2 Fast, Ludacris continued to star in Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6 and the new sequel, Furious 7.
Furious 7 just recently hit movie theaters and has already earned US$25.5 million on its Thursday opening.
As for Ja Rule, his last album "Pain is Love 2" was released back in 2012 and reached the 21st spot on the Billboard charts.
