Rumors of an engagement first swirled after Alford was spotted at one of Lamar's album signing events with a giant rock on her ring finger.
Lamar has also named his fiancee as his attitude checker, he also credits her for keeping his feet on the ground and calling him out at times when his fame starts to get in his head. "She's my bestfriend and she is the one person that I know won't judge me when I tell her about my fears, she also keeps me in check especially during times when fame gets to my head, she always calls me out when I am out of my element." he said in an interview with Billboard.
The couple who have been together for 10 years met, when they attended Compton's Centennial High School, the same school that Dr. Dre attended back in 1979. Aside from being former high school classmates, the couple also have a professional relationship Lamar recently asked Whitney to provide additional vocals for his latest singles Wesley's Theory and King Kunta.
Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Sasquatch Festival in Seattle on May 22nd and sources say that there is a big chance that Whitney will be making an on-stage cameo during the rappers set.
