Disco Demolition 2: Bieber and Cyrus Merchandise

Well, it's official, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber are two of the most hated pop stars in the world, or at least in South Carolina. Most would go only as far as making bad comments about these two but a baseball team from South Carolina decided to blow up some merchandise showing these two well-hated singers.

Just a bit of a backtrack, Disco Demolition happened way back in the '70s where record labels have been blown up in one of the baseball games. The current Charleston RiverDogs president was the one responsible for the original Disco Demolition 35 years ago. He is Mike Veeck. This event resulted to forfeiting the last American Lead Game on July 12, 1979. Basically, everyone got hyped up and the blow up was so destructive resulting in the field getting ruined.

So, on Saturday, the Charleston RiverDogs wanted to do a do-over of the event. Not to destroy disco but to destroy Bieber and Cyrus. They even put up posters saying that they should not miss the said event which they cleverly called: 'Disco Demolition 2: You better belieb it'.

The reason, why out of all the hated stars they picked these two, is because of the frequent run-ins of Bieber with the law and the controversial performances of Cyrus. Dave Echols, RiverDogs General Manager, pointed that out. He also said that this is dedicated to the eradication of the musical disease they are trying to spread.

This time, they guaranteed that no game will be forfeited because Bieber and Cyrus' memorabilia and merchandise will be put in a giant box and blow it into smithereens. Those who wanted to attend this event had to pay U.S. $1 for the entrance fee.

As promised, the explosion was not as destructive as it was in the first Disco Demolition. The main event of the night was not, in any way, close to what transpired before. However, fans were eager to see the big bang and they cheered and rooted for their hatred of these two young artists.
