Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde Reprise Their Roles for "Tron 3"

Fans of Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, get excited as the pair will be coming back for more "Tron."

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, both actors have officially announced that they will be reprising their roles from the 2010 movie "Tron: Legacy" for "Tron 3."

"Tron:Legacy," which earned more than US$400 million dollars in the box office, was the long-awaited sequel to the 1982 film "Tron," which featured Jeff Bridges as the arcade owner and computer hacker Kevin Flynn, who mysteriously gets hauled into a virtual world called the Grid.

The sequel starred 30-year old Garret as Kevin's son, Sam and 31-year old Olivia as Quorra, a computer program turned human, who goes to the real world and joins Sam, as seen at the end of the movie. 

Tron 2's director, Joseph Kosinski is also on board to direct the third film in the successful science fiction movie franchise.

In a previous interview with Collider, the director said that he would love to direct the third Tron movie only if they could do "something spectacular." He explained that for him to come back and pull the entire crew back together, the movie would have to be their "Empire Strikes Back," referring to the well-loved and well-appreciated second movie in the first "Star Wars" trilogy.

But assured fans by saying that he thinks they have the idea that will make the movie really big and make the franchise better and more successful.

While details, as well as the plot of Tron 3 have yet to be announced, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the film is scheduled to start production this coming fall.
