(Photo : REUTERS/Dan Lampariello) Runners continue to run towards the finish line of the Boston Marathon as an explosion erupts near the finish line on April 15, 2013.
Azamat Tazhayakov was convicted Monday for trying to cover up evidence against his friend, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the two Boston Bombing suspects allegedly responsible for killing 3 people and injuring more than 260 others.
The jury found him guilty in the charges of conspiracy and obstruction of justice. He could face up to 25 years in prison, once he is sentenced in October.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is the younger brother of the Boston Bombers duo and at the time of the incident was a student at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
The convicted Tazhayakov was accused of removing a backpack and a laptop from his friend's dorm room on the request of Tsarnaev following the bomb explosions at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.
The 20-year-old was found guilty of removing the backpack but not the laptop.
Tazhayakov is the first of Tsarnaev's friends convicted of assisting the two brothers after the horrific occurrence at the 2013 Boston Marathon.
A second friend, and fellow Kazakh national, Dias Kadyrbayev, will be tried with the same charges later on.
According to prosecutors, Kadyrbayev and Tazhayakov took the laptop to their apartment, and Kadyrbayev, with Tazhayakov's knowledge, tossed the backpack in a trash bin.
It was later found in a landfill and its contents included vaseline, a thumb drive, and fireworks.
Kadyrbayev has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy and obstruction of justice. His trial is slotted to begin in September.
A third friend, Robel Phillipos, has pleaded not guilty to making false statements. None of Tsarnaev's friends have been accused of taking a direct part in the actual bombing.
The cases against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's friends are leading up to the trial against him scheduled to begin in November. Tsarnaev faces 30 federal charges, some of which could result in the death penalty.
Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty to all charges connected to the bombing. His older brother, Tamerlan, 26, was killed during a gun fight with police 4 days after the bombing.
