According to media outlets, by the end of last week, April 5, Sunday, EXO was able to sell more than 6,000 copies of their most recent album, 'EXODUS', following its release on March 31 in the US alone. It is said that the group marked the highest sales for K-Pop album in America.
Subsequently, EXO nabbed the 70th place on Billboard's Top Album Sales Chart, also securing the 95th place on Billboard 200.
2NE1, the four-member Korean girl group, held the record for the highest weekly sales of K-Pop albums, selling a total of 5,000 copies of their album 'Crush' in just a week following its release in 2014. The group took the 61st spot on Billboard 200 last year as well.
Furthermore, besides earning the title of the best selling K-Pop album per week, EXO also holds the title of the best and highest-selling Asian boy group since they have also surpassed BIGBANG's album sales. BIGBANG secured the 150th spot on the Billboard Chart with their album 'Alive' after selling around 5,000 copies in US within a week.
Moreover, just hours after the release of 'EXODUS', it was reported that the album garnered half a million in pre-orders on different online portals, both local and international.
In related news, EXO achieved their third win with 'Call Me Baby' on 'M! Countdown' on Thursday, April 9.
