After a very intense two-week probe and investigation, the district attorney's office in Manhattan has decided to drop the charges of sexual assault filed by an Italian model against film studio executive, Harvey Weinstein.
A source close to the situation said the DA felt that the case involving 22-year old Ambra Battilana cannot be proven beyond reasonable doubt due to issues with her credibility.

The brunette beauty claimed that she was groped and sexually assaulted by Weinstein in his office during a discussion about a lingerie shoot audition.
A representative of Weinstein spoke up about the case and said that they are pleased that the "episode is now behind us," before refusing to make any more comments about the case.
Weinstein arrived at the Tribeca office, where he saw Batillana on March 27, two hours after the decision was released to the public. He smirked and made a half-wave but offered nothing more.
The model, who was seen at her apartment after departing her lawyer's office simply told reporters to "call my lawyer." However, her attorney, David Godosky also declined to comment.
A law enforcement source said that issues with Battilana's credibility arose because she was found lying to the investigators about having a sexual relationship with a 70-year old man in her hometown in Italy. The man, who's only known as Mr. G admitted to having a sexual relationship with Battilana but insisted that it was consensual. Mr. G said that he gifted Battilana with lots of expensive jewelries, tanning cream and a car.
What made building the case against the movie mogul harder was because they were alone when the alleged incident happened which resulted in a he said, she said situation.
Joan Vollero, the DA's spokesperson announced that the case was taken seriously and was thoroughly investigated by their sex crimes unit. However, after analyzing the evidence available, as well as the interviews, they concluded that a "criminal charge is not supported."
After the father of five was accused by Battilana of groping her breasts and sliding his hand under her skirt during a "business meeting," he was faced with potential misdemeanor charges.
The model was at Weinstein's office a day after they met as the meeting was supposed to be a chance for Battilana to discuss her career. However, instead of discussing possible opportunities, she claimed that Weinstein asked her if her breasts were real then groped them. Battilana said, that he only stopped after she refused to give him a kiss.
Cops revealed that they had Battilana ring up Weinstein as they listened and a source said that Weinstein did not deny touching her and even assured the young woman that there wouldn't be a sequel.
The stunned model called a friend after she left his office and went to the police to report the incident later that night. The 5'10 model talked to investigators a few days later to recount her version of the event.
Georgina Chapman, Weinstein's wife was said to be extremely humiliated and outraged by the charges filed against her husband.
