The United States government is preparing a case against Russia on the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 based on "overwhelming evidence" of the country's involvement as dread intensifies over the mishandling of victims' remains.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry demanded that Russia takes responsibility for the actions of rebels who were allegedly supported by Kremlin.

"This is the moment of truth for Russia. Russia is supporting these separatists. Russia is arming these separatists. Russia is training these separatists, and Russia has not yet done the things necessary in order to try to bring them under control," Kerry told the Associated Press.
He told the media that evidence, including a video of a rocket launcher firing a surface-to-air missile from the possible launch site and calls claiming credit of the shooting, suggests Russian hand on the dreadful incident that killed 298 passengers aboard the Malaysian passenger plane.
On Monday, U.S. President Barack Obama has directly accused the pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine of compromising evidence and mistreating the victims' bodies.
"What exactly are they trying to hide? The burden now is on Russia to insist that the separatists stop tampering with the evidence," Obama said in a statement on the south lawn of the White House.
"Given its direct influence over the separatists, Russia - and President Putin in particular - has a direct responsibility to compel them to cooperate with the investigation," he added.
Also, the international community had intervened with the United Nations adopting a resolution condemning the downing of the passenger jet in Ukraine on Monday.
Breaking his silence, Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied the allegations and lashed out at Ukraine authorities for restarting the unrest in the latter part of June.
He also said that Russia is now working with UN to investigate the crash site.
