TVB Offers Salary Increase and TV Queen Title to Kate Tsui

Rumor has it that TVB offered a salary increase of 15 percent and the TV Queen title to Hong Kong actress Kate Tsui if she renews her contract with the company.

Tsui's contract with the leading TV station and talent outfit, TVB, is said to be expiring in May this year. According to media reports, since many A-list actors are leaving the network in order to venture to the China market, TVB is eager to keep the actress under its management.

An insider source stated that in order to retain the actress under the network, TVB offered Tsui a 15 percent salary increase. The salary raise is said to be worth around $1.2 million HKD of yearly pay and is not inclusive of event appearance fees.

Furthermore, TVB allegedly offered a blockbuster series for the actress which is scheduled to air by the end of 2014. The network also reportedly offered the TV Queen title to Tsui as a part of the package if she renews her contract with the company.

The source explained that the actress is allegedly thinking of leaving TVB in order to widen her horizon in the Chinese market. The source added that the actress also has doubts about venturing the China market since she knows that there are not much opportunities for her in the country yet.

"This time, the terms that TVB offered is not bad, so there is a possibility that she might renew her contract," the source stated.

On the other hand, speculations surfaced that if Tsui will renew her contract with the network, she will have better chances of winning the TV Queen award over TVB's leading actress and potential TV Queen candidate Linda Chung.

Moreover, there are rumors which claim that TVB is 'freezing' Chung because the network only offered her four projects for the past two years. It was also cited that she was replaced by Grace Chan in 'Brother's Keeper 2' and only ended up as a guest star in the sequel.
