'EXO Next Door’ Garners 5 Million Views In Just 12 Hours

'EXO Next Door', the web drama that was produced in line with EXO's comeback, received more than five million views only 12 hours after its release.

After South Korean-Chinese boy group EXO made their comeback, their web drama, 'EXO Next Door', which was produced by the chat application LINE, was released online. Through the drama, the ten-member group has once again proven their brand power by breaking records in terms of online views.

The first and second episodes of LINE's new mini-series, which features EXO as its new brand ambassador in South Korea, were released  online at 10 P.M. KST on April 9, Thursday. In addition, the episodes were released in other countries including China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines and other Asian countries, simultaneously  generating more than 5 million views in just five hours.

The show was officially aired through Korea's Naver TV Cast, China's iQIYI, Line TV and other local video sharing platforms. In Japan, the drama was released via YouTube. Fans also uploaded edited and subtitled versions through other channels. Because of this, it is said that if the views generated through these other channels will be included, the numbers are projected to be higher than 5 million views.

'EXO Next Door' revolves around the story of a young girl named Yeon Hee who has no experience in dating at all. As the story progresses, Yeon Hee finds out that some members of EXO moved next door to her family's house, and would cross paths with all ten members in a romantic adventure.

The first two episodes mainly features Korean members, Chan Yeol, Sehun, D.O. and Baekhyun, but the other six members will be featured in the latter episodes of the web drama.

In related news, EXO achieved their fourth win with their new title track, 'Call Me Baby' on SBS' 'Inkigayo'.
