David Letterman's Final Late Show Guests

After more than 20 years behind the desk at the Ed Sullivan Theater, David Letterman, 68, the longest-running late-night host in history known for his acerbic style and verbal sparring matches, will be packing his final 28 shows with an impressive guest list before the final broadcast of the "Late Show With David Letterman" on Wednesday, May 20.

This week's guests will include Sarah Jessica Parker, Billy Crystal, "2015 Masters" winner Jordan Spieth, Michael J. Fox, Amy Sedaris, Kevin James, comedian Tom Dreesen and Alec Baldwin, "The Talk" and "Big Brother" host Julie Chen, "Asleep at the Wheel," Chris Stapleton, "Iron & Wine" with Ben Bridwell, with Tracy Chapman and John Mayer as musical guests.

Other celebrities who will appear by May 20 are: Bill Murray, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Bill Murray, Tina Fey, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Robert Downey Jr., Julia Roberts, Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Will Ferrell, Martin Short, Scarlett Johansson, John Travolta, Don Rickles, Howard Stern, and yes, Oprah Winfrey.

Other musical guests include Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Mumford and Sons, Norah Jones, and Amos Lee.

To commemorate Letterman's retirement, CBS will be releasing 22 years of Late Show photos on April 14 such as when Madonna entered the set being carried in by the New York Rangers and the famous boob-flash by Drew Barrymore for Lettermen's birthday.

Political satirist, writer, producer, singer, television host, actor, media critic, and comedian Stephen Colbert, 51, host of the satirical news show Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report," will be taking over for Letterman.

Earlier this month, Sen. Al Franken said that Letterman's next career move    should be to run for the U.S. Senate.   He said, after doing 35-40 years of comedy, "it's worked every time," he said.
