The long awaited rematch between Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and challenger Renan Barao has tapped to headline UFC Fight Night this coming July 25 in Chicago.

UFC brass announced the decision last Tuesday. The fight will take place in the United Center and will air on Fox. This fight will be only the second title fight since January 2014 that is set to air on a non-pay-per-view television platform.

The epic saga between Dillashaw and Barao began last May 24, 2014. At the time, Barao stood as the UFC bantamweight champion and was riding a 22-fight win streak. Coming into the fight, he was widely considered one of the pound-for-pound best in the world.

However, Dillashaw was training with new Team Alphamale coach at the time, Duane "Bang" Ludwig, who helped to hone his striking skills. Even though everyone was counting him out, Dillashaw's belief in himself never wavered.

He ended up shocking the world when he put on one of the most masterful performances in the octagon, dominating Barao for five rounds and finishing him in the last round. Right after the fight, an immediate rematch was issued three months later in Dillashaw's hometown of Sacramento.

Barao was not able to fight though as he sustained an injury when he fainted in the bathroom attempting to cut weight. Replacement Joe Soto stepped in for the fight and was knocked out by Dillashaw.

The rematch was booked again at UFC 186 which was to take place this month, but it just was not meant to be as Dillashaw revealed he sustained a rib injury last month.

Fans all around the world hope that the third time is the charm, and that Dillashaw and Barao get to face off again.

Included in the card is former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis taking on up-and-comer Myles Jury in the co-main event.
