Dennis Quaid's Viral Video Rants --- Is It Real?

There's a bizarre video that has gone viral showing Dennis Quaid, 61, going on a rant but no one can confirm if it's real or just a hoax.

By coincidence, Quaid's new series, "The Art of More" for Sony Crackle was also announced today.  If the video is a prank, then it just makes perfect timing.

Some people though are speculating if the video is just a skit for comedian Jimmy Kimmel who is known to produce these types of random videos to go viral.

The cellphone video that was uploaded on YouTube on Friday seems to have been shot by a crewmember on a movie or TV set showing Quaid's profanity-peppered rant against unprofessionalism. A captioned below reads: "Dennis Quaid freaks out and storms off set."

The actor is seen shouting, "I am doing my job here. I am a pro. This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on ..."  He continues, "... I have a bunch of ... staring at me. And this ... baby. This is garbage."  Then Quaid storms out slamming the door behind him.

Some speculate that this video may be a marketing tool to promote Quaid's new show, however its gross profanity would not also serve its purpose with mainstream audience.  However, Quaid's outburst doesn't exactly sound scripted either.

Quaid will be starring in the first one-hour, 10-episode series of Crackle's "The Art of More," set in the world of high-end auction houses.  Crackle is an internet-streaming service under Sony Pictures Television.

Written by Gardner Stern and Chuck Rose, the drama explores the cutthroat world of premium auction houses filled with smugglers, hustlers and power trippers. In the series, Quaid plays a ruthless, shrewd and corrupt real estate dealer.

Quiad also executive produces "The Art Of More" alongside Laurence Mark, Gary Fleder, Rose and Stern.
