(Photo : Reuters) Sony is offering a partial payment for PS Vita false advertising.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission found Sony guilty of false advertising with regards to their launching of the PlayStation Vita handheld console. Sony has agreed to comply with the findings and recommendations of the FTC.
The FTC acted on the complaints of numerous customers tht bought the PlayStation Vita based on the advertised features that never came through or were not satisfactorily met. Back then, Sony promised PS Vita buyers enticing features such as PS 3 games available for remote playing, 3G network based online multiplayer games, as well as cross saving between the PS 3 and Vita.

If you bought the PlayStation Vita in the United States before June 1, 2015, you can receive US$25 in cash or in kind worth around $50 or even higher.
Sony's representative has already sent out emails with instructions to affected customers about the good news. Those qualified for the minor refund must submit their claims before June 30 this year to get the freebies.
Claimants will be given three alternatives to choose from. First option is to receive a $25 check. Second option is to convert the $25 to PSN credit. Third option is to select one of the three different bundled games. The bundles are classified as Action / Adventure, Family Friendly and Variety Pack. The bundled games have a retail value of around $50 or higher.
Qualified PS Vita owners will be directed at this page https://vitaclaims.com. The claimants must be ready with their PlayStation Network (PSN) ID and serial number of their Vita handhelds. The serial number is usually located at the bottom right side of a PS Vita unit.
In case the number has been erased, don't worry. Just connect the PS Vita to a computer and get the serial number in the properties section.
Afterwards, select the type of reward you want, pressed the submit button and wait for the confirmation.
