Cameron Diaz Ends Interview at Radio Show After Snide Comments Against Friend Drew Barrymore

Cameron Diaz suddenly ended an interview when Australian DJ Kyle Sandilands made snide comments about her friend and fellow actress Drew Barrymore.

On Monday, July 21, the actress reacted profoundly after past drug issues on Drew Barrymore were brought up by the male radio host during her interview on KIIS 106.5's Kyle & Jackie O Show.

Cameron, along with costar Jason Segel, called into the radio show to promote their new movie Sex Tape.

During the aired phone call, Jackie O mentioned that the actress playing the role of their daughter in the movie, Giselle Eisenberg, reminded her of Drew Barrymore's character in E.T. in 1982.

Cameron agreed to the female host, saying, "She does, now that you mention it. And she's as bright and lively as Drew is, as well. She's a sweet little girl."

That was when Kyle Sandilands wisecracked, "Let's hope she misses out on the Drew Barrymore drug years, because those were a great thing to watch, but not so good to be in, I'd imagine."

The first half of the interview went well with the actress showing her bubbly side, however, after the Sandilands' comment, she remained silent.

To break up the tension between the actress and the male radio host, Jackie O added, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," with regard to Drew Barrymore.

However, Cameron Diaz was so offended of Sandilands' jibe at Drew Barrymore who happens to be one of the actress' closest friends.

"I'm sure, Kyle, you've never been through a drug phase, have you? Or alcoholism or anything like that? Pretty clean... always did it right? Congratulations," Cameron commented.

Sandilands didn't stop after the rather sarcastic comment of the actress and even added more comments, this time, about the actress' romance with Benji Madden, guitarist and backup vocals for Good Charlotte.

To quell the strain, Jackie O shifted the topic from Drew Barrymore to Jason Segel's weight loss for the movie, but before he could answer the question thrown at him, Cameron Diaz deliberately ended the conversation, saying, "We have to go now... Sorry, they're wrapping us up."

Jackie Oh further commented on her co-host's actions. "Good one, Kyle," the female radio host said. "You ruined that interview... you brought up Drew Barrymore, her best friend's drug addiction in the past. She's her best friend! And then you brought up Benji. We all know how protective Cameron is about her private life."

Kyle Sandilands remorselessly pointed out that it was the point of a good interview and said, "Maybe, they should've just bought ads if they wanted to sell the movie."
