Kendall Jenner has been very vocal about wanting to distance herself from the brand which made her famous-the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." Of course, she knows she has her mom, Kris Jenner's genes in her to thank for her extremely good looks and she surely knows that she would not have had it that easy to get a career in high fashion if not for her famous family's name, however, Kendall is keen on having the world recognize her as her own brand and not just a part of her family's.

So when Kendall agreed to do the cover shoot for GQ's latest issue, she made sure to shed some light about the trappings of being part of the Kardashian clan and in the process, shed a few clothes as well.

Last year, the supermodel made headlines when she decided to drop her last name and chose to be billed only as "Kendall," which became her first step at attempting to establish herself as a one-name superstar. Kendall, who's already one of Chanel's creative director, Karl Lagerfeld's favorites, revealed that she didn't just go into the modeling world to walk the runway for any designer who would have her and of course, her famous last name.

In a recent interview for Harper's Bazaar, she spoke out about modeling and said that she entered the industry with the hopes of having longevity. It's not something that's just for fun for her or something that would be treated as a side job. "It's something I want to do my whole life," she added and continued to explain that she plans to have a career in modeling which is why she's taking her time and specifically choosing things.

Making it on her own in the fashion industry is something that she seriously wants to do. In fact, she even prohibited the E! cameras from following her to her shows.

She shared to GQ that she told them from the start that they are not allowed to follow her. "You're not gonna be with me on this ride," she said.

And she's loving the experience of having to journey on her own. This past year, she said, has changed her life in so many ways. "I met so many people, I've been to a lot of places." Though she describes it as "pretty crazy," she said that she loves being able to continue to grow.
