Despite battling it out with Russian president Vladimir Putin for the first place in Time 100 Reader's Poll, 2NE1's CL failed to make it in the final and official list released by the weekly news magazine.
Time magazine released the official list of their 100 Most Influential People on Thursday, April 16 and notable names included in the list are Vladimir Putin, power couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and other celebrities including Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Julian Moore and Emma Watson.

Although Korean superstar CL was a top contender in the reader polls, she was not able to make it in the list.
Time magazine has disclosed how they chose the 100 Most Influential People and said that although the list is based off of votes from their online readers, the nominees are still judged by the publication's editors, who ultimately decide who gets on the list.
CL's fans have no reason to be disappointed though, as her American debut and new US solo album are just around the corner. Recently, she's been successfully breaking into the American market-performing with Skrillex at the Ultra Music Festival held in Miami, sitting down for interviews and doing numerous photoshoots for various American magazines.
36-year old DJ and music producer, Diplo, just also revealed that he'll be coming up with a new track titled "Dr. Pepper" with CL.
CL is managed in the United States by Scooter Braun-the same man behind the success of pop stars Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. In a previous interview with Fader magazine, CL said that she does not want to have a "good image." Describing herself as "not the standard Asian girl," she proudly said that "there is not a single Asian pop star who has done this," referring to crossing over into the American market.
She also expressed how happy and grateful she is that she gets to write her own music, unlike in Korea when she would just be given a song to sing and perform.
