Rumors have already separated rapper Kanye West and Kim Kardashian long before they could reach their first wedding anniversary.

Now the rapper, for the first time, is talking publicly about his relationship with his famous wife and how they are both adjusting to married life.

"We had to learn to communicate," he told the GQ Magazine.

The couple had a rough start to their marriage, having spent time apart at the beginning of their respective careers. So when they are together, things often get a little tense.

"We both did things that you just can't if you want to keep up a relationship," West admitted, without going into further details.

Some sources claim that Kanye is micro-managing Kim's life, but he says that he actually learns a lot from his wife.

"I am learning how to listen to her advice more than the advice from others," he said.

The rapper is all praises for his wife's life coping skills, saying one needs to have them in order to get the most out of life.

He describes his wife as family-oriented, good at taking care of money and a nice person - qualities that he says are rarely found in his world.

"Me, I am no shark myself. Some people call me a predator. But I am not. I am a blowfish. I don't want to hurt anybody," he said.

Right now Kanye is working on his new album which is expected to be released this fall, and likewise working on his line for Adidas.

Kim is busy working on her TV show, "Keeping up with the Kardashians", where she stars together with brother Brody. 

Despite having too much on their plates, Kanye manages to spend time in the company of his beautiful wife.  The two got married in Florence, Italy on May 24.

"I consider myself a happily married man, and I am developing as such all the time," Kanye said.
