The high-end Xperia Z2, the latest addition to the Sony family, is now on sale in the US. However, the handset is only available with locked-in contract for US$700 and comes with a special offer of US$50 discount.
Currently, Sony Xperia Z2 can be bought only from Sony's online store and interested buyers would be lucky if there are some stock of the handset.

It is not clear if the handset will be available on US mobile carrier.
However, there are reports a couple of months back that Verizon is most likely to pick Sony Xperia Z2 and start to offer the handset in August.
Sony Xperia Z2 runs under Android 4.4 KitKat. It features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, and 16GB of storage. It also has a microSD slot and available for memory expansion.
The rear camera has a 20.7-megapixel sensor and beats the DxOMark smartphone camera test charts. The handset can also shoot 4K video.
The newest Sony handset is available in purple, black, and white.
It received favorable reviews from gadget critiques when it was presented at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.
Writer and editor Simon HIll at Digital Trends (DT), a lifestyle, technology news and information website, published a review saying that its fast and powerful performance is commendable.
The review also says that it has excellent display quality and advanced camera.
On the other hand, Hill said that some users may have a hard time dealing with its size and angular design. The handset is also prone to fingerprint marks and dust.
