Celebrity chef Bobby Flay, 50, who separated from actress Stephanie March in April, allegedly had a three-year relationship with his assistant Elyse Tirrell, 28.

Tirrell, a singer and actress, worked at Bar Americain, one of Flay's restaurants in 2008 before she became his assistant.  According to a source, March only learned about the affair in the latter part of 2014 but she already had suspicions.

According to actress Maia Madison, a close friend of March, the actress is currently having a difficult time considering she is also busy taking care of her sick mother.

Madison said that Tirrell had been going to the couple's home whether March was home or not and that she always "seemed so nervous" when March was around, calling Tirrell the "Monica Lewinsky of the food world."

Madison also recalled that when March learned about the affair, she was crying uncontrollably and said that March felt that the last 10 years of her marriage felt like a lie.

A report by Page Six said that when Flay was absent for the celebration of his 10th wedding anniversary with March, he was in Miami with Tirrell.

According to Flay's spokeswoman Julie Halpin, the accusation that Flay was cheating was written by between the two attorneys in the case and then leaked to the press in order to re-negotiate the pre-nuptial between Flay and March ten years ago but was never amended.

March's lawyers have reportedly wanted to challenge the prenup wherein Flay is supposed to pay the actress $5,000 a month.  According to Forbes estimate in 2012, Flay is worth at $9 million.

Flay, who has been married thrice, filed for divorce his divorce with March earlier this month. The couple have been married for 10 years with no children.

Laurence Kretchmer, Flay's business partner defended his friend and said that none of this had any real basis.  Flay tried "everything he could to save his marriage and that Tirrell "is a great and valued employee."

According to him, if the affair indeed took place, it would have been reported to him. It was Tirrell's job to be around Flay a lot considering she is his assistant.
