The lineup of movies for the 39^th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival has been announced Tuesday with trailers revealing a promising mix, with majority of the titles being world premieres.

Numerous movie trailers were unveiled during the announcement and though they have given very short description and details regarding the event, almost all the titles feature A-List actors and actresses taking on more challenging roles for their entries.

The Toronto International Film Festival has chosen its list of 59 feature films for the gala. It is only a small part of the 260-to-300-title lineup for this year's edition of TIFF which would have an 11-day schedule starting from September 4 to 14.

In addition, Canadian movies featured for the event will be announced on August 6.

The star-studded titles include moviemaker and Canadian icon David Croneberg for his work "Maps to the Stars," a Hollywood satire which garnered the award for best actress at Cannes for Julianne Moore.

Another talked-about title in the lineup was Jean Marc Valle's "Wild" starring Reese Witherspoon. The actress plays the role of a heroin addict who seeks to cleanse herself by hiking through a thousand miles.

Antoine Fuqua's movie "The Equalizer" has also been named as one of the titles in the list for the gala. The movie features Denzel Washington and Chloe Grace Moretz.

Ed Zwick's "Pawn" also made it to the list, starring Tobey Maguire who played the role of Bobby Fischer, the American chess master. Alongside Maguire is Liev Schreiber, who played the role of Fischer's Soviet challenger, Boris Spassky.

Among other titles announced were: Bennet Miller's "Foxcatcher," a true-to-life drama starring Channing Tatum and Steve Carell; "Black and White" by Mike Binder starring Kevin Costner; Micheal R. Roskam's "The Drop" where the late James Gandolfini played a featured role of a gangster, and many more.
