The latest and probably the craziest beauty trend as of the moment is the #KylieJennerChallenge.
The hashtag, which names the voluptuous-lipped youngest Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, Kylie Jenner, has been trending worldwide on social media websites since fans started artificially and temporarily plumping their own lips to look like hers and sharing their pictures and videos online.

Just this Tuesday, the edgy teenager took to her Twitter account to weigh in on the beauty fad, which has been leaving fans' lips swollen or bruised. She wrote, "I am not here to try and encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this the way they should look," and added that she wants to encourage young girls and others to be who they are and not be afraid to experiment with their looks.
So, what exactly do they do when they sign up for the #KylieJennerChallenge? They use a shot glass to copy Kylie's famous pout.
Young girls, as well as boys, insert their lips into shot glasses and suck the air inside the glasses for a few seconds, which instantaneously makes their lips look like they have just gotten lip injections. While some lips do look incredibly full, some just look swollen.
And not everyone is riding on the trend. A lot of users have criticized the crazy trend on Twitter, with one fan describing the fad as "gross" and asking, "What is wrong with you people? If I see another picture of blown lips, I'm going to throw up."
While another user said that the participants of the challenge look like "bloated lip buffoons."
Well, people should probably stop temporarily plumping their lips as a medical expert has already said that it's dangerous. Dendy Engelman, a dermatologic surgeon, spoke to Seventeen and said that using shot glasses to plump lips can not only cause swelling, bruising and pain. Repeated attempts can also cause permanent disfigurement and scarring.
