MTV Launches New Virtual Clubhouse for Teen Wolf Fans

MTV has recently launched The Collective, a new online clubhouse for Teen Wolf fans.

The site seeks to make a display of the original art and poetry contributed by fans and associate them with the people behind the show. This may now put an end to the tedious searching on Tumblr for creative Teen Wolf fan art.

According to Colin Helms, MTV's senior vice president for connected content, it remains crucial to recognize how the show's audience should establish dynamic interaction with their shows and characters, thus hiring Teen Wolf fans to create fan fiction and artwork.

With the launching of The Collective, this will generate a curated space that allows fans to extensively develop and share their art while being recognized across sites and possibly even on TV.

With Tyler Posey playing the lead hankering teen, Teen Wolf has obtained 959,000 followers on Twitter, 4.5 million likes on Facebook, and an active social interaction with fans on Tumblr.

However, The Collective will be designed exclusively for fans, and not for mere visitors.

Stories and photos focusing on the show's behind the scenes will be incorporated into art posts and fans' experiences of on-site screening.

Last year, MTV launched TeenWolfMemorial.com after the death of Allison Argent, played by Crystal Reed. At the start of the latest season, the network also created TeenWolfTrailer.com which prompted fans to complete a GIF puzzle to watch the trailer for the second half of season three.

Helms has further stated that Teen Wolf is the network's "most social show of all time and one of the most social shows on television".

He also pointed out how an intimate relationship with their audience has allowed the network the opportunity to appeal to fans when it comes to watching, contributing to, and giving feedback on their content.

MTV then aims to expand The Collective and use it on other shows and franchises.
