So who was the mystery man Selena Gomez was frolicking with during her birthday trip in Saint Tropez, France?

The handsome mystery man has been identified as 28-year old Italian Tommaso "Tommy" Chiabra, founder and chairman of Royal Yacht, an official supplier of food and drinks for yacht parties.

Chiabra is said to speak multiple languages, including Italian, English, Spanish, and French.

Before being photographed with the 22-year old singer, Chiabra has been romantically involved with several supermodels and celebrities, including "Gossip Girl" actress Jessica Szohr.

Aside from Szohr, the rumor mill went abuzz when he was also seen being friendly with troubled actress Lindsay Lohan on late June at the time that he was supposedly still with Szohr.

Until the photographs with Gomez came out, people assumed that Chiabra was still in a relationship with Szohr. However, from the looks of it, he has already moved on to Gomez.

This led to a lot of speculation that Szohr's cryptic message on Instagram, posted on Gomez's birthday, was intended for Chiabra.

Szohr posted an image of the quote, "You want to come in my life, the door is open. You want to get out of my life, the door is open. Just one request. Don't stand at the door, you're blocking the traffic."

Gomez was spotted holding on tight to the entrepreneur while they rode on a jet ski. Later on, the couple held hands and got flirty while drying off on the deck of a yacht.

After having dinner with Chiabra and her friend, model Cara Delevinge, at Villa Romana, the singer was photographed linking arms with the businessman.

Gomez recently took to Twitter to thank her friends and fans for their birthday greetings, posting, "Thank you SO much for my birthday wishes this has been the BEST birthday yet! THANK YOU!!!!"

Her on-again, off-again beau, pop singer Justin Bieber, did not publicly send her a birthday greeting.
