Britt McHenry Returns to ESPN After a 1-Week Suspension: “She Knows She Made a Mistake”

Britt McHenry will be returning to television this weekend. The ESPN sports reporter was handed a 1-week suspension last Thursday after she was caught on video cruelly berating and insulting an employee in a particular towing-company in Washington, D.C.
Despite receiving harsh backlash, a producer of ESPN has told Sports Illustrated that the 28-year old reporter will again take on her regular responsibilities, which include covering the NFL. So if there is one thing that still proves to be true in her remarkable rant, well that is "I am on television and you are in a f*****g trailer, honey."

Britt's suspension has formally ended on Thursday, which means that she will be appearing on "SportsCenter" this weekend and reporting in front of the ESPN cameras on Thursday next week to cover the opening round of the NFL draft and report on the St. Louis Rams. The plan is to let her report most weekends on the NFL games and contribute to "SportsCenter" and other programs of ESPN.
Her superiors are well aware that the rehab tour for a young talented woman, who has gone from an unknown face in the ESPN talent pool to a pariah that reflected entitlement and pettiness, starts now.
Seth Markman, the senior coordinating producer of ESPN, also discussed Britt briefly and said that, "she's just really anxious to get back to work."
He shared that he and Britt talked about the matter and discussed how it would take time and how difficult it would be. Seth said that Britt knows she has to do an extremely good job if she wants to win back the trust of the viewers and added that he, as well as the rest of people at ESPN expect that from her.
He continued to praise Britt's job on the NFL and how well she dealt with some of the difficult situations, before saying that there's nothing he's seen that makes him think she will be unable to rebound from this. "She knows the first couple of assignments out of the box will not be easy."
Asked about the people who might only think back to Britt's mean-girl side, Seth remarked that it wouldn't be shocking if there are people who would react negatively to her return. "I've read a lot on this and she knows she made a mistake," he added.
