(Photo : Reuters) An unreleased enterprise version of Google Glass has appeared on eBay.
Google Glass was taken off the market early this year, after a rather uneventful year of beta testing resulting in a few updates to the platform, but nothing major in terms of innovation or commercialization.
Instead of scrapping it completely, Google sent the project to Nest Labs, where it will be worked on in secret. The product that comes out of the lab should be the commercial version of the augmented reality device, ready for everyone.

We might not have to wait long for google glass release to happen, according to Luxottica, the parent company behind Oakley and Ray-Ban. The fashion and optical glasses designer was a third-party partner for Google Glass, news about this has been revealed.
Italian chief executive Massimo Vian claimed he did not have a direct timeline, but said it was coming soon. Google declined to comment on the rumor, stating the team was hard at work building the next generation of Google Glass.
This corresponds with what Google's Chairman Eric Schmidt said about the product a few months back, stating it was not dead and is still a major product line for Google, similar to self-driving cars and other moonshot plans.
For the old verision of Google Glass price, it was about $1,500. However, the new version of Google Glass is expected to cost less, have more stable battery life and a much better display. This could be a great comfort for the Google Glass lovers.
That puts Google Glass as a key product for the future of Google's revenue and expansion. Nest Labs has apparently been working on refining the design and making sure the platform is stable and capable of importing apps from all different sources which will be distinguishably to the old Project Glass.
Nest Labs is the team behind the smart thermostat and smoke detector. Google Glass may have some significant importance as a hub tool for all of the smart home appliances coming from the company in the next few months, including audio products. It was acquired by Google last year for $3.2 billion, in a move to collect the largest smart home platform in circulation.
Google has allowed Nest to be largely independent from Google's day-to-day operations, but the move to work on Google Glass shows the two companies are now working together to formulate devices for the commercial market.
Whether this partnership will be successful is another matter. Nest was going well before Google, which is more than can be said for Motorola Mobility when Google acquired it for $12.5 billion, only to sell it off four years later for $2.91 billion.
Other big consumer acquisition of Google Glass was for YouTube; now one of the largest video platforms in the world. It is clear Google has a handle for building platforms, but it has not shown a knack for hardware projects - Nest may be its first success. New version of Google Glass can be another potential Project Glass and it may bring people to an another fashion style.
