In the midst of family arguments and conflicting claims, Bobbi Kristina's father, Bobby Brown, has made a bold move.

According to a report broadcast Saturday by 11Alive, the singer has just filed for guardianship over her daughter's estate. The report comes after the young woman's family and loved ones were split over whether or not she had actually come out from her coma, as what her father had claimed.

Bobby was seen earlier this week at the DeKalb Medical Center in Georgia, where Bobbi Kristina is currently staying.

The only daughter of the late Whitney Houston was transferred from Emory University Hospital, where she had been treated since she was found face down in the bathtub in her home, so she could be given long-term treatment.

While Bobby claimed last week that Bobbi Kristina is now awake, Cissy Houston, her grandmother, said that although her granddaughter is no longer in a coma, she is still not awake and is not expected to make a full recovery.

Bobby made a surprising announcement to his fans at his Dallas concert last Saturday and said that "Bobbi is awake." And on the following Monday, the My Prerogative singer issued an official statement and wrote "Bobbi Kristina's condition has changed and there has been improvement."

While Bobby remains insistent that his daughter is awake and recovering, his ex-wife's mother said otherwise and remarked that Bobby is simply being too optimistic. Though Cissy confirmed that Bobbi Kristina is no longer in a coma, she also explained that she is irreversibly brain damaged.

In a statement provided by Cissy, she explained that she had just gone from the hospital to visit Bobbi Kristina and learned that while she's no longer in a coma, the doctors explained that her brain damage is severe and will most likely remain unresponsive. 

A source close to the family told TMZ that they're still hoping for a miracle and are kindly asking the people to keep them in their prayers. The source added that they do not know why Bobby thinks his daughter is awake and where he got that information from. 

On Monday, Alicia Etheridge, Bobby's wife, who's pregnant with their second child, also issued a statement about Bobbi Kristina. She confirmed that Bobbi Kristina has been released from the ICU and has already managed to open her eyes. The 22-year old aspiring singer, she said, has already begun the rehabilitation process, which they understand will be long and difficult. However, they are holding on to God's blessings and are looking forward to her future relationship with her unborn sister.
