Asus first announced the release of the Zenfone 2 this January. On the other hand, Huawei announced the release of the P8 smartphone this April and expected it to be available in stores by May.

Both smartphones utilize the latest Android OS, which is the Lollipop or version 5.

The Huawei P8 casing is made of plastic and has a metal frame. There's a standard Gorilla Glass cover for the screen.

The P8 is quite thin although not as thin as claimed by earlier rumors at 6 mm. The latest Huawei smartphone has a screen measuring at 5.2 inches and 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

The processor is a SoC 64-bit Kirin 935 octa-core along with 3 GB of RAM. The P8 also has an internal storage of 32 GB. The P8 smartphone has a back camera of 13 MP with 4160 x 3120 p resolution.  The front camera has 8 MP with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 p.

Asus developed the Zenfone 2 and has the honor of being the first smartphone that has a RAM capacity of 4 GB. There is a 2 GB RAM option for this particular smartphone. 

The Zenfone 2 is powered by the Intel Atom quad core 64-bit processor. This latest Asus smartphone also has 13 MP back camera and front camera of 5 MP.

The Asus Zenfone 2 multi touch 5.5 inch display is powered by HD IPS technology. The internal storage of the Asus Zenfone 2 can be as low as 16 GB to as high as 64 GB.

Both smartphones are powered by Lithium-polymer batteries. The Huawei P8, however, has a non-removable battery with a capacity 0f 2600 mAh. The Asus Zenfone 2 has a more powerful capacity at 3000 mAh. Both also support GSM, HSPA and LTE networks.
