Colbie Caillat, being one of the many artists tired of seeing almost all of their photos photoshopped, came up with the idea of removing all her makeup to reveal her true self on her newest music video for 'Try'.

The song 'Try', released on June 9 this year under her stand alone EP 'Gypsy Heart Side A', is about being one's self and as the song's message says, not trying too hard to be liked for something that isn't you.
'Try' is one of the five additional tracks she released as a prelude of her 2011 album 'All of You'. The track will also be added to seven more unreleased songs to form a full-length album called 'Gypsy Heart' to be released under Republic Records later this year.
In the music video, the artist is seen removing her makeup as she sings.
The American pop singer was hoping for the song to get more attention and she had hoped that it would affect women and people which it did.
"I mean I'm even getting grown men telling me that they love this song and this video makes them cry," the singer said in an interview with KPIX 5.
Colbie Caillat talked about how being in the mainstream pop industry is tiring for artists and celebrities alike. The singer cited how the image of being sexy is often what is presented to the public.
"The inspiration came from personal experience of being in the music industry and feeling like I need to always look polished for people to like me," she stated. "It was frightening at first. Before I was like 'Cool, this is awesome, I'm excited to do it.' And then when I got there and I was just in front of the bright lights and HD camera, I was looking at everyone watching the monitor and of course I'm just thinking, Okay, they're seeing that I have really light eyebrows and they're probably looking at the mole on my forehead that I should be covering up."
Additionally, Colbie Caillat hoped that her new music video would inspire her fans to be more comfortable in their own skin and try to like themselves more.
